Day 11

Let's see this is gonna be a lot! I have two roommates now...Irina and Shantal. Irina is 24 and from Peru. I think she is awesome. Saturday she and I had some fun in the park and Sunday we went shopping together. Shantal is from South Africa and she is 28. I don't really know her because she just arrived yesterday, but I think we will all get along great!

I went to the Harbor on Saturday and finished my latest book! It was very relaxing, but I did get a little burt. Work is going fine. I am learning tons of information that will help me later in life as well as becoming independant. I miss home very very much, and Kentucky Kingdom too. It kind of hard to explain what I do because really I just count information to make sure it is correct on the sheets. There is a tremendous amount of checking and rechecking here. Everyone is very nice and I am so happy to meet so many different people. Well I should get off here. Love you all! Kt

Day 4

#1 I do not remember what I wrote on my last blog so if I repeat anything...I'm sorry.

#2 Sunday was fun...I took a bus to Walmart and met a few guys who seem pretty cool. I cleaned my place up and got some essentials. I also found out that there is a mini store onsite incase I need toilet paper again. lol

#3 Yesterday I met my boss who seems cool and got shown the place I will work in. I also got to go in the park!!! It was awesome. The park reminds me A LOT of Kings Island. The coasters are amazing, but Kingda Ka is currently down. I will let you know what it is like asap. The water park opens this weekend so hopefully I will get to go see it and lay out and get a tan. Kingdom people just a side bar...discounts in food and merchandise here!!! Made me happy! lol. Best rides so far El Toro and Nitro, but I did skip a few. Side note...do not eat within 2 hrs of coming to the park...you will puke! lol.

#4 Had my first day of work today!!! It was slightly boring but I did meet some really cool people. I have my own desk and my own computer...but I have to wait to get a password. I learned how to do bags today...lots of counting. But all in all I will learn basic accounting stuff, much of which I will only use at Six Flags.

Other than that things are great! No roommates yet, but I keep praying. It gets lonely and scary at night. I found out that while in Jersey I have to have a pork roll...I'll let you know what thats like. Other than that I'm trying to have fun and forcing myself to run everyday! I kno, I kno its good for me. *sticks out tongue*

Love you all and miss you!

Day 1

I arrived in New Jersey yesterday!!!! I had a six flags employee pick me up at the airport which was a true blessing! I thought I was going to end up taking a train and two buses just to get here. New Jersey looks a lot like Kentucky, and it reminds me that the only thing that makes it different are the man made lines making them different states.

I was a little shocked when I got here. Housing was not what I expected but with a few homy touches it has warmed right up. Ive taken some pictures and will try to get them posted soon. The park is amazing and huge. I haven't gotten the chance to go in yet but there is a killer roller coaster right outside my window. The closest store to me is a convenient store called WaWa which is located 2 miles down the road. If I want to shop or anything I have to take a bus to Walmart or the mall. I'm so excited. I do not have wireless and am sharing 3 computers with 400 international students, so I may not get to post every day. Hopefully when I start working on Tuesday I will have my own computer from which I can write.

I found out an interesting fact...It is illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. SO when you pull up to a gas station you have to stay in your car while someone else pumps your gas. I think it is strange.

I do not have roommates yet, but I have heard the place fills up fast. I have also already locked myself out of my house! yay go katie! lol. Other than that I am taking the bus to Walmart today, and hopefully that goes well. I feel like I am being forced to grow up a little more and be totally self sufficient, should be an interesting summer!
